Founding The Kumho Business Group was founded in 1946 by Mr. In-Chun
Park as a small transportation company with two Ford Taxicabs as its
only assets. Demand was high and the business grew rapidly, only to be
devastated by the Korean War in 1950 to 1953. After the war Mr. Park
started over and built what is today Korea's largest intercity bus transportation
company, Kwang Ju Highway Lines, and its largest and finest tyre manufacturer,
Kumho Tyres.
Diversification over the years, the Kumho Group diversified into many
fields, some of which would prove internationally competitive such as
Kumho Tyre and Asiana Airlines Inc.
